Two senior women sitting together looking at a tablet.

I was here last week;

You said, ‘Let’s go somewhere with class,

Check out that new Seoul Place:

Practice Korean on the staff.’

I told you they're all born here,

And ‘Fighting!’s' a bit too sparse.

I was here the day before,

We discussed Harry Mack,

And learning to freestyle like him;

Sadly, our style was whack.

We can’t compete with aliens:

We haven’t got the knack.

I was here yesterday,

Booking up our trip next year,

In Malaysia we'd ask kids

To sing to us, because you swear

That every five-year-old’s a star:

They're talented over there.

I’ll be here tomorrow,

Learning the Hamba Wena,

Yes, I know that at our age

We should be trying something saner,

Than complex African moves

When our bones say, ‘Go on, I dare ya’.

Ok, remember back when Covid

Eyed us, shouting: ‘Fat!’?

As it raced past, with, ‘Laters!’

Well, last night I heard a rap,

7pm on my chest, sharp –

Hadn’t even fed the cat.

I’m here because Death sighed

And said, ‘A bucket list now, is it?

Fine, I’ll see Dave next door – not him:

First grandson's on a visit.’

I begged him to swop back, but Death’s

A random piece of shizit.

What – the Grim Reaper played me?

Dave has no new grandbaby?

That old demonic so-and-so

Is really something shady!

Oh, I’m relaxed; here, they call me

The Resurrection Lady.

But Death, that sick performer,

Should really take a bow,

Still, he promised us our bucket list;

In fact, he made a vow

So, dry those tears, let’s travel!

I was gone, but I’m here now.
