Poets on the Ground
If only we could talk to the animals—or more importantly—they could talk to us. We’d have a bird’s eye view and more. This is a collection of silly, fun, and slightly deeper poems, which aim to give some of the insects and animals around us a voice, at least from a human’s perspective, of course. Not sure who’s who? Check the back of the book for a reveal of those who haven’t ‘outed’ themselves in their own verses.

All Very Sad
Poor Will and Kate
And Harry and Meghan;
Yes, people can be very mean;
Cash crisis and Brexit,
Hell in a handbasket,
Wait—did you just mention sardines?
Elections, new PM,
And he’ll have to sort it,
Cost of living, though some have it grand;
It’s not safe to be flying,
The bills have us crying,
But what’s that you’ve got in your hand?
Stop the illegals at Dover,
AI’s taking over,
Climate crisis,
Earth’s future looks grim.
We can’t drink the water,
Gas up by a quarter,
Are you ever going
To open that tin?
