IN THE THIRD INTERROGATION room in AeoStar Customs, a lone creature sat waiting patiently for clearance. Looking through the shielded holoscreen from another room, two military officers took in the long limbs, amber skin, grey eyes, and dreadlocks of silver hair triple-looped at the waist.
After a long perusal, the most senior of the two, General Eversholt Oh, finally turned to her colleague. “Well, it looks human.”
No stranger to her superior’s dry wit, Lieutenant Lee-Lee Grady grinned back. “It is, General. Biometrics shows he’s male. His name is Enyon Kehinde Trent XIX, and he’s Lunan-born—from the Tranquilville region to be precise. He’s an Anti-Vice Officer.” Her eyes rolled cynically. “As if they don’t get enough work up there.”
“Actually,” Oh responded, “they don’t. Lunan AV officers have cleaned up most of their own vice-spots. Guess it’s our turn now. So, what’s the problem with him?”
