Luke DiManestra got the blame. The world called him The Destroyer of Mankind. At present, he was ‘unavailable for comment.’ Perhaps he’d gone into hiding or jumped off a cliff. All we prayed for was that he would reappear and fix the nightmare he’d created.
But once we’d used up both prayer and blind panic, we’d go back into the cities; into the laboratories where our best scientists from all four corners of the earth would be put to work.
